Did you know that right where you are is a great place to be? Whatever has led you to this moment has brought you back to yourself.
We are all seeking to feel happier, more whole, more purposeful. We want our lives to have meaning.
Perhaps you find yourself here because you are going through a challenging time and navigating rough waters. You may be here because you desire to develop your spirituality and be inspired. Maybe you're here because you're my super supportive family--hi mom and dad!
Regardless of why you're here, I want you to be in this moment and ask yourself what it is that you need. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Place a hand over your heart and notice how your body reacts to that question: what do I need in this moment?
Whenever you begin a journey, or sit to assess where you are on the path, you must be in touch with yourself. Your brain cannot do all the work. Your heart cannot do all the work. Your body cannot do all the work.
Here are some places to direct your attention to when you are checking in with yourself:
What am I noticing in my body? Am I feeling tension, a racing heart, or shallow breaths? Am I noticing that my fists are firm or my jaw tightened?
What am I hearing/seeing in my mind? Where are my thoughts?
What am I feeling in my heart? Is there sadness present in this moment, contentedness, or fear? There may be more than one feeling present.
All of these are clues to what you need. The spiritual self--your spirit, your soul, your essence--is concerned with what you body, heart, and mind are experiencing. They are all divinely connected.
So, what is it that you need? What brought you here?
